Martin Quad Spring/Summer 2027 at Berlin Fashion Week

Martin Quad Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 for INTERVENTION VI at Berlin Fashion Week entitled ,,Woodman Pt. 2,,

Martin Quad presents Woodman Pt. 2, a reimagined presentation of the brand’s SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection as part of Intervention by Reference Studios during Berlin Fashion Week. Originally conceived as an operatic choreography, the project continues Martin Quad’s ongoing exploration of fashion as a medium extending beyond textiles and garment-making. Developed through an extended engagement with the work of late American photographer Francesca Woodman, the collection approaches mirroring as both image and construction method.

Throughout Martin Quad SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection, garments are duplicated, displaced, inverted, and fragmented through manipulations of classical tailoring. Traditional silhouettes are distorted without being abandoned, creating forms that feel both familiar and unfamiliar. Key pieces include jackets constructed to drape above the hips, trousers and skirts cut unusually high beneath the chest, felted hats obscuring half the face, and translucent layers of fluid silk organza.

Martin Quad SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 presentation unfolds through an operatic composition written by Creative Director, Martin Juncker in collaboration with Copenhagen-based artist and composer Soli City, whose work forms the sonic foundation of the performance. Set design and art direction are developed by Kristian Kirk of inter.agcy, while Berlin-based Tim Heyduck is tapped as stylist and creative consultant for both the collection and presentation. Woodman Pt. 2 revisits and transforms the collection’s original presentation, first shown during Milan Fashion Week on June 19, offering a new interpretation of its themes and visual language. Design and creative development continue to take place in Martin Quad’s Copenhagen atelier.

Founded in 2023, Martin Quad has established a distinctive practice through performance-led presentations operating between fashion, theatre, and installation. Previous works include the self written opera Voici Venir Les Oiseaux!, the mortality-driven performance piece In Loving Memory Of…, and Sixfold Fate Pt. 2, a pantomime runway production presented during Copenhagen Fashion Week with support from The Danish Arts Foundation. Martin Quad was founded by Danish designer and creative director Martin Juncker (b. 1998).
