Tom Holland wears Gieves & Hawkes bespoke for The Odyssey global premiere, in Leicester Square, London on Monday 6th July, 2026

Gieves & Hawkes worked closely with British actor, Tom Holland, and his stylist, Crystalle Cox, to create a bespoke suit featuring custom jacquard, for the global premiere of The Odyssey. Tom’s character Telemachus wears tonal armour in warm browns, rich burgundy and muted golden accents throughout the film, creating a natural starting point for the look. “As part of the enduring house codes of Gieves & Hawkes, we continue to draw inspiration from our distinguished Naval heritage through unique fabric and pattern design. For this chapter, we developed a signature stripe inspired by Morse code signalling, with the dashes and dots subtly spelling ‘G&H’. In creating the bespoke jacquard for Tom Holland for the premiere of ‘The Odyssey’, we evolved this concept further, crafting a new Morse code motif that translates to ‘The Odyssey’ – a discreet expression of both the film and the house’s visual identity.”- Joshua Scacheri, Design Director

Tom Holland’s suit is cut with tradition at the forefront, following a classic double breasted dinner suit silhouette, inspired by a reefer jacket. The jacket features slanted double jett pockets, evolving from the slanted welt pockets found on Peacoats and similar outerwear. The trousers are double pleated for a more relaxed style, introducing a new shape for Gieves & Hawkes. By adding a satin peak lapel, it gives the jacket more of a formal feel. The cuff includes a single feature button on each sleeve, showcasing the G&H antique brass metal crest. The shoulder includes a ‘rope head’, with a higher armhole for easier movement, but sustained structure.

The cloth was crafted in England, at Stephen Walters, the only remaining jacquard mill in the country; established in 1772. The jacket and trousers were then cut and sewn by the bespoke team in London, at the No.1 Savile Row workshop. “Gieves & Hawkes bespoke epitomizes the balance between modern tailoring and heritage cut. Respecting the styling notes of our past but understanding how a garment should feel for the modern world and how we will use them. The garment we made here is a wonderful example of this. Tom has a slim, athletic figure which lends itself to creating balanced proportions with space to accentuate the silhouette. From the subtly structured shoulders into the tapered waist and following a traditional fit on the trouser with a high waist and straighter leg, allowing the double pleats to fall naturally. “The first meeting was for body measurements and confirmation of cloth and style options. Body measurements are vital for me to then create the pattern which is drafted by hand, this is where the garments begin in their creation. Following this we had a fitting, the suit at this stage is constructed in its simplest form, the fitting allows an opportunity for both the cutter to complete the necessary alterations to move to the next stage, and client to see their suit in its initial stages.” Eithen Sweet, Senior Cutter
