Fourteen graduates from the Royal Danish Academy’s MA programme Fashion, Clothing and Textiles – New Landscapes for Change will present their thesis collections at Copenhagen Fashion Week this August, marking both the culmination of their studies and the beginning of their professional careers.

Grounded in tradition and ready for change – a new generation of fashion designers navigates the complexity of being young today as they show their thesis collections at Copenhagen Fashion Week this August. Across the 14 collections, recurring themes emerge around identity, belonging, uncertainty and hope. Together, the projects offer a portrait of a generation navigating contemporary challenges while finding meaning through design, community and personal relationships. Their collections demonstrate a thoughtful engagement with materials and craftsmanship, while also highlighting the importance of connection, community, and friendship.

“This year’s graduation exhibition demonstrates an exceptionally high academic and creative standard, alongside a remarkable diversity of approaches and perspectives. The students’ projects show how fashion and clothing can serve as exploratory tools for understanding identity, culture, sustainability, and the social challenges of our time,” says Marcus Aminaka Wilmont, assistant Professor and Head of Programme at Fashion, Clothing and Textiles – New Landscapes for Change at the Royal Danish Academy.

Bringing heritage and innovation to Copenhagen Fashion Week. Royal Danish Academy 2026, the graduates embark on this journey with their show at Copenhagen Fashion Week: A group show of 14 graduate collections, representing each designer. On the runway they will give us a glimpse into the cultures, materials and techniques that have shaped them as designers – and as humans. With previous industry experience, and years of tailoring and textile studies, you can expect to see handcrafted fabrics with bold prints, cutting-edge textile manipulation, and a focus on knit and weaving, as well as meticulous colour work achieved through hand-dyed textiles.

While Copenhagen has been their shared home for the past two years, the designers bring perspectives shaped by lives in Myanmar, Germany, Finland, Denmark and China, spanning both rural and urban contexts. These roots shape the collections and together they explore the concept of localism, as many have created their collections in materials, skills and stories from their native environments.
