Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design BA Graduate Show at Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27 in Plantetorvet, Refshalevej 167, 1432 København

On Tuesday, August 4th 2026, SAFD will present 27 bachelor collections during Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27. It is the culmination of a three-year study, including a six-month international internship. Since joining SAFD, the graduates have completed an academic programme that has taken them through every step of the design process. The students bring every design to life with their own hands. From the concept to the finished garment, every piece is designed and sewn by the students, ensuring a strong foundation in both craftsmanship and creativity.

Their skills have been meaningfully shaped by collaborations with fashion houses, including Dilara Findikoglu, Iris van Herpen, Bless, Threeasfour, as well as designers from leading Danish studios and industry experts.

The graduates 2026 have created distinctive collections that engage with a variety of contemporary social issues. In one collection, the fragility of working with raw paper through the traditional Japanese technique of Kamiko challenges the permanence of clothing. Another explores the tension between technological progress and the value of human making. It reflects on the complex relationship between innovation and craftsmanship while questioning what may be lost as digital technologies increasingly reshape the creative process. Some collections revisit historical techniques and dress traditions, while others are shaped by observations of contemporary life. Together, they demonstrate fashion’s capacity to respond to the world around us.

Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design BA Graduate Show SS27, The students experiment through materials and process. Airbrush painting, leather moulding, felting, weaving, and new material applications are used beyond their conventional purpose, resulting in unexpected surfaces and forms. Presented alongside a video installation, the showcase brings together 27 collections that offer a snapshot of a new generation of fashion designers at the beginning of their careers.
