mfpen is a modern clothing brand that reinterprets classic garments through relaxed silhouettes and a commitment to responsible production. The aesthetic draws on both retrospective and countercultural notions to look ahead and shape the evolution of classic European tailoring and design, creating timeless garments with a sense of understated, refined elegance. Our production process follows a Responsible Hierarchy, prioritising high-quality European deadstock fabrics sourced from excess stock within the fashion industry. When deadstock isn’t available, we turn to recycled and biodegradable fabrics, only using certified organic cotton as a last resort. Established by Sigurd Bank in 2016.

Presented in the brand’s own Copenhagen office to celebrate mfpen’s 10th anniversary, Mfpen SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection transformed the everyday stresses of office life into a quietly subversive wardrobe.

Details of Mfpen SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 talk about deconstructed office tailoring, with relaxed suits, loosened ties, and softened silhouettes suggesting the end of a long workday. Signs of wear as design elements, including coffee-stain prints on silk shirts, pilled knitwear, faded colors, and slashed necklines and elbows, evoking garments worn under constant pressure. Workwear with resistance, featuring shirts and skirts fastened with numerous hook-and-eye closures that intentionally require effort to put on and take off, turning dressing into a physical act. Relaxed menswear and womenswear, balancing grunge-inspired stripes, leather jackets, hoodies, lightweight knits, and casual tailoring with moments of unexpected femininity, such as a striped pleated babydoll dress and lace details integrated into menswear. A tension between refinement and disorder, where polished raincoats and sharply cut suiting coexisted with deliberately distressed textures and undone styling, reflecting the contradictions of contemporary working life.
