MUNTHE Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Copenhagen Fashion Week
“As art remains at the heart of MUNTHE, this season I drew inspiration from the world of a master artist and her atelier – a space where creativity, craftsmanship, and imagination come together. Surrounded by her apprentices, the artist moves through her studio, sketching ideas, sharing notes, and guiding each creation with a clear artistic vision. Her wardrobe reflects the duality of her world: refined tailoring and ties inspired by traditional masters, paired with worn worker denim and relaxed overalls marked by traces of paint and process. Every stain, every mark, tells the story of creation. At the center of the atelier is her notebook – a treasured collection of thoughts, sketches, and fleeting ideas. A place where inspiration is captured before it disappears, and where every painting begins. The atelier is more than a workspace; it is her universe. A domain shaped by artistry, dedication, and the pursuit of craftsmanship. Here, creativity leads the way, and every detail reflects the beauty of making something by hand” – Naja Munthe, Creative Director and Founder of MUNTHE
Collection inspiration of MUNTHE SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027, MUNTHE enters an artistic universe where creativity, craftsmanship, and self-expression define every detail. At the center stands the female artist and her visionary domain. The collection explores the balance between masculine and feminine dressing, combining sharp tailoring with soft, expressive silhouettes. Ruffled dresses are paired with worker-inspired trousers, oversized denim, overalls, knits adorned with multicolored pearls, delicate crochet lace tops, and structured jackets, all styled with ties. Together, these elements create a wardrobe that reflects the spirit of the modern master artist. The color palette draws inspiration from the artist’s atelier, featuring shades of blue, lemon, cream, dark petrol green, and rich chocolate tones. Throughout the collection, painterly details and artistic markings evoke the spontaneous beauty of color found across an artist’s canvas and palette.
MUNTHE SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027, MUNTHE’s Art Monday collaboration features Australian painter Judith Sinnamon. A graduate of QCA, Sinnamon is celebrated for her ability to capture the movement of light through the fluidity of oil paint, translating the unique flora and atmosphere of the Australian landscape into poetic and immersive works of art. As with every MUNTHE collection, art remains both inspiration and foundation, a tribute to the women who create, challenge, and shape the world through their vision.
