For SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027, SAGIO continues an exploration of identity that began last season. Where Fall/Winter 2026/27 looked at the different personalities we carry and choose to show, this collection turns to a simpler question: how do we come to see ourselves?

A reflection promises recognition, but it never holds still. It shifts with light, movement, distance, perspective: the same person can look whole from one angle and fragmented from another. That instability sits at the center of SAGIO SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection. No single image can ever hold a person in full. Strength and vulnerability, discipline and emotion, restraint and expression – all of it exists in us at once, more or less visible depending on the moment. Choosing how we present ourselves becomes an act of navigating that complexity: deciding what to reveal, what to protect, what to transform.

Water carries the idea further. Still, it offers the illusion of perfect clarity. In motion, the image breaks apart and reforms always adapting, never losing its essence. Within the collection, water becomes a principle of construction: the dialogue between stillness and movement, contour and dissolution, structure and flow.

Two women embody this dialogue, each from a radically different world. Marie Antoinette, living under constant observation, used clothing and silhouette to construct a public identity – dress as a language of power, even as her image remained open to interpretation and judgement. Veruschka took the opposite path: through camouflage, body paint, and staged transformation, she moved between woman, animal, landscape, sculpture, letting identity emerge through metamorphosis rather than stay fixed in one form. Marie Antoinette builds identity through spectacle; Veruschka lets it dissolve through transformation. Together, they frame the two forces at play in this collection: identity as construction, and identity as continuous movement. These ideas move into the garments through structure meeting fluidity. Defined silhouettes are broken by draping, twisted construction, and sculptural volumes that shift with the body. Reflective surfaces and translucent layers respond to light; changing proportions let the same silhouette read differently from every angle. Some garments hold a clear contour. Others let the body dissolve into fold and reflection.

REMIX XVIII REBORN finds freedom in moving through this consciously, choosing what to reveal, conceal, and transform. Rebirth, here, is an act of recognition: the moment the different versions of the self-stop feeling like contradictions and start feeling like one continuous, evolving identity. The most powerful moment is simple; someone catches their reflection and recognises something that genuinely belongs to them.
