Tough guys with tender hearts, wearing their bravado like armor and their vulnerability like an imprint. Drawing on the feverish romance and rebellious youth of Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo + Juliet,” the swagger of rap culture and the sacred imagery of Italian devotion, Dean and Dan Caten challenge conventional notions of masculinity, laying bare the raw emotion beneath its rough edges.

The Dsquared2 guy has nothing to prove and even less to hide. Commanding in his presence, he bares his emotions with disarming confidence. Italian rapper Promessa embodies this unapologetic spirit in the collection’s imagery, as the voice of a generation that wears its feelings as boldly as its attitude. Tailoring is turned inside out and stripped of its conventions. Double-breasted suits take on relaxed proportions, with raw cut shorts revealing the linings beneath. Sartorial constructions are exposed as inner waistbands migrate to the outside of trousers and the hidden architecture of blazers becomes cross-shaped decorative detailing on shirts. Waistcoats expose tattooed torsos, and boxers peek above low-slung trousers and jeans.

Denim is distressed, ripped and reassembled.
