Oriental Fashion Show SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 during Fashion Week
Milan, September 2026 – On September 23, 2026, during Milan Fashion Week, the Oriental Fashion Show returns to Milan with a fashion show dedicated to the encounter between haute couture, tradition and cultural heritage. The prestigious setting of the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci will host three protagonists of contemporary couture connected to the traditions of the Silk Road: YOLAND from the Sultanate of Oman, RENA from MOROCCO, and GOWHER GOUVERNET from Turkmenistan. Founded by Hind Joudar, the Oriental Fashion Show has been an international platform for over 20 years, dedicated to promoting Oriental couture and fostering dialogue between cultures through fashion. Throughout its history, it has presented more than 200 designers from 50 countries in major international fashion capitals including Paris, Milan, Marrakech, Dubai, Baku and Istanbul.
YOLAND | SULTANATE OF OMAN: Omani designer and founder of Yoland Fashion House, Yoland brings to Milan a collection of Abaya Haute Couture, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the iconic garments of women’s dress in the Gulf and Middle East. The collection draws inspiration from Omani culture and, in particular, from the artisanal heritage of Dhofar, a region renowned for its craftsmanship, its centuries-old frankincense tradition and the richness of its ornamental motifs. Embroidery, couture details and artisanal techniques are reinterpreted through a contemporary language, creating a dialogue between tradition, modernity and cultural identity.
RENA | MOROCCO: a contemporary fashion brand rooted in Moroccan heritage and craftsmanship, born in the workshops of Casablanca. The name RENA is inspired by Renata, the founder’s mother’s couture maison, active for 40 years, while also evoking the concepts of Renacimiento, Renaissance and Reconnection, expressing the brand’s vision of creating a connection between cultural heritage and contemporary life. The first collection offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the Moroccan caftan, through a modern, versatile and personal approach. Each piece is individually conceived in Casablanca and crafted by a single maalem, a master artisan and guardian of traditional Moroccan savoir-faire. RENA thus transforms the caftan into a unique and timeless piece, somewhere between fashion and jewellery.
GOWHER PIRKULYYEVA GOUVERNET |TURKMENISTAN: Turkmen designer and founder of her eponymous maison, she lives and works between Paris and Ashgabat. Trained in Fashion Design in Paris and Costume Design in St. Petersburg, she currently teaches at FORMAMOD Paris and collaborates with French and international haute couture houses. In 2022, she founded her own maison in Turkmenistan with the aim of preserving and reinterpreting Turkmen nomadic traditions through a contemporary language. Her creative research combines keshde, traditional embroidery and ornaments with rigorous Parisian-inspired tailoring, creating a dialogue between East and West. Her career also includes experience in costume and the performing arts, as well as participation in major international fashion and cultural events, including the Oriental Fashion Show and Paris Haute Couture Week. Göwher Gouvernet’s work is distinguished by her ability to transform Turkmen cultural heritage into a contemporary and international couture vision.
The Milan Fashion Week event confirms the Oriental Fashion Show’s vocation to use fashion as a tool for dialogue and the celebration of cultural identities, bringing the creativity and savoir-faire of countries with rich traditions to one of the world’s leading fashion capitals.
