Chloé Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Paris Fashion Week
At Chloé, femininity has always been closely connected to the house’s identity. For SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027, presented during Paris Fashion Week on October 1, Chemena Kamali looks back at that history through a collection titled “Obsession.” Rather than simply reproducing archival ideas, she focuses on the elements that continue to hold her attention and brings them together through her own perspective.
The romantic side of Chloé is immediately visible in the use of broderie anglaise, lace and embroidery. These details appear across dresses, blouses and skirts, while three-dimensional floral embroidery adds another layer of texture. Tassels and different neckline shapes, including heart, square and V-necks, further emphasize the collection’s feminine character. Transparency also plays an important role, allowing some of the more delicate elements to become part of the overall silhouette.
But Chloé SS27 / Spring/Summer 2027 collection does not stay entirely within that romantic world. Kamali places these softer elements alongside fisherman coats, transparent raincoats, sou’wester hats and tailoring. The contrast gives the clothes a more practical and utilitarian dimension. Lingerie is also brought closer to the surface, with lace pieces taking on a harness-like appearance and appearing over or between tailored looks.
There is a clear connection to the 1960s and 1970s, particularly in the collection’s bohemian and feminine attitude. At the same time, the combination of tailoring, rainwear and lingerie keeps the clothes from feeling like a straightforward return to bohemian style. For SS27, Kamali uses familiar Chloé codes as a starting point, then places them against tougher and more functional elements to create a collection that feels romantic, but not overly delicate.
