Jocqueline And Guillaume Hiriart Carriat Unveil Luma At A Paris Pop-up

Paris, October 9, 2026 – To mark its first European presence, Seoul-based leather goods house Jocqueline, founded by Tei Kim, unveils LUMA, an exclusive collection created in collaboration with Basque designer Guillaume Hiriart Carriat. Presented in Paris from October 8 to 11, 2026, at Galerie Angalia, this collaboration marks a first for both designers, brought together by a shared history with leather and a common sensitivity to materials, shapes, and colors.

LUMA collection by Jocqueline And Guillaume Hiriart Carriat draws Its inspiration from Txoria txori, a poem by Joxean Artze celebrating love and freedom. Through the symbolism of the bird, Guillaume Hiriart Carriat explores the idea of a bond that allows freedom, movement without constraint, and instinctive creation. This symbolism echoes the meeting of the two designers. For Tei Kim, the project accompanies Jocqueline’s expansion into Europe. For Guillaume Hiriart Carriat, it represents a new sense of creative freedom, shaped by a dialogue between two cultures and two perspectives. At the heart of LUMA lies a material that connected the two designers long before their collaboration: leather from the Rémy Carriat tannery, based in Espelette in the Basque Country. Born into a family of tanners spanning four generations, Guillaume Hiriart Carriat grew up surrounded by leather and the craftsmanship associated with it.

In 2018, while in Paris, Tei Kim discovered leather from the Rémy Carriat tannery. This encounter with the material became the starting point for Jocqueline, the leather goods house he went on to establish in Seoul. Several years later, their shared appreciation for leather gave rise to LUMA. The collaboration brings together Basque artisanal heritage and the contemporary vision of a Korean leather goods house, embracing a free-spirited and playful approach to leather accessories.

Built around a single silhouette, LUMA comes in four sizes: Luma18, Luma28, Luma37, and Luma46, each named after its width in centimeters. The collection is defined by its supple silhouette, understated simplicity, and bold exploration of color combinations. Available in four colorways, each piece reveals a contrasting lining when opened, like a second identity. Inside, Guillaume Hiriart Carriat’s name is embossed into the leather, a subtle signature of the collaboration. The collection places the material at its core while preserving a sense of lightness and the joy of color.

To accompany the launch of LUMA collection by Jocqueline And Guillaume Hiriart Carriat, LUMA comes to life through a campaign shot entirely on analog film along the Basque coast. Photographed by Gladys Tan, with a film produced by Lonny Prod, the campaign extends the collection’s visual universe and its connection to Guillaume Hiriart Carriat’s homeland. Through coastal landscapes, natural light, and a strong emphasis on texture and material, it captures the free-spirited and sensitive essence of the project.

The LUMA collection is available for pre-order from October 8 to 18, 2026, at jocqueline.com, with deliveries beginning October 19. The collection is also available for exclusive purchase at the Paris pop-up.
