Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2027 / SS27 at Milan Fashion Week
At Milan Fashion Week on September 26, 2026, Maximilian Davis looked to the past to explore a more contemporary vision of Ferragamo. For Spring/Summer 2027, the creative director drew inspiration from 1940s clothing, bringing its structured silhouettes into a collection that balances sharp tailoring with softer, more sensual elements. The collection also reflects Davis’s interest in the work of photographer Lee Miller and her experiments with Man Ray. Their use of solarisation, a photographic technique that creates unusual tonal effects through light and shadow, offers another point of reference for the season.
This contrast between structure and softness runs throughout the collection. The colour palette moves from beige, brown and sandy tones to stronger shades of green and blue. Materials play an equally important role, from leather with a worn appearance to shimmering dresses decorated with paillettes. These details give familiar silhouettes a different character without losing their connection to classic dressing.
Footwear remains central to the Ferragamo story. Davis revisits the Invisible Sandal, created by Salvatore Ferragamo in 1947, with particular attention to its distinctive F-shaped heel. The idea is carried into a range of contemporary designs, including sandals, pumps, wedges and slingbacks.
With this collection, Davis continues to shape his own direction for the Italian house while maintaining a connection to its design heritage. Rather than simply revisiting the 1940s, he uses the period as a starting point for exploring how tailoring, material and transparency can work together. Ferragamo Spring/Summer 2027 ultimately finds its character in these contrasts: classic yet experimental, structured yet fluid. It is a collection that approaches femininity through both strength and softness, allowing the house’s heritage to inform a more modern expression.
