SRVC SS24 / Spring Summer 2024 at London Fashion Week entitled WISH I WERE HERE…

[London, 18 September] Eyes up! In a tech-driven world, we’re all guilty of fixating on our devices. From the moment we wake up, our screens command attention, and they’re the last thing we see before sleeping. Prioritising content has taken centre stage, all while our online personas exaggerate reality. Even on vacation, we curate flawless reels and carousels to mark our less-than-perfect IRL experiences.

For its debut runway show, SRVC Spring Summer 2024 collection—“Wish I Were Here”—delves into the digital era’s impact on altered perception of life and its influence on our attire. It begs the question: How would real-life appear when our holidays are encountered via a screen?

Exploring the notion of a simulated approach to presenting memories—far removed from the traditional assemblage of physical photo albums—the collection focuses on warping reality.

There are Aloha prints, subverted with human forms embracing beneath palm trees, embellishing shirts with detachable sleeves and stirrup leggings, alongside heat-tech knitwear paying homage to the chic, enigmatic woman-like creature sighted on holiday, who emerges from the water bearing striking marks on her body. Elsewhere, an array of ‘denim’ separates are presented—comprising both upcycled, entirely-sustainable denim patchworks and trompe l’oeil knits cleverly imitating the look and texture of blue jeans.

Aligned with the brand’s core values of hyper-futuristic innovation and pushing the boundaries of deconstruction, the collection incorporates subtle yet practical customisable elements within garments. For instance, Nappa leather trench coats feature removable vest inserts, while cargo pants encompass three adaptable size tiers that can morph into A-line shorts. Stretch-knit tops are designed with a detachable sleeve and shawl, instantly elevating a basic item into something more complex. Additionally, a tortoise print, evoking the appearance of pixels through a lens, manifests into adjustable dresses and vests.

In celebration of its inaugural SRVC SS24  runway moment, SVRC transports you into a fusion of digital realm and beachscape, where designs materialise as embodiments of a dystopian future.

Centered around the interplay between garments and the human form, the brand reinterprets sartorial codes, championing values of inclusivity, empowerment, and craftsmanship.
