The Garment Spring/Summer 2026 / SS26 at Copenhagen Fashion Week entitled The royal stables, Copenhagen.
A quiet track behind my garden in Charlottenlund leads to the horses. From my terrace, I see them in the early light, reminders of spring, space, and slower time. In the city, close to my office, I’ve always been drawn to the royal stables. It took patience to secure this space for the show, but it felt right, quietly powerful.
The royal stables hold a long history, dating back to 1740, when they became part of Christian Iv’s baroque palace. That sense of heritage, stillness, and structure became a quiet thread throughout The Garment SS26 / Spring/Summer 2026 collection. This season is rooted in contrast: the softness of cotton sheets drying in a garden breeze against the permanence of sun-worn stone walls. My moodboard began with vintage curtains, draped windows, and flea market textiles from my summer house in france. I’m always drawn to old cottons, faded linens, the sound of fabric in the golden hour, light and moving with the wind.
Silhouettes are minimal, but considered. Fluid harem pants, sculptural bustier and bandeau dresses, and sharp mini blazers that recall riding jackets. Linen men’s suits and summer tuxedos, with ties worn as scarves, a wardrobe gently shared between genders. Classic men’s trousers reworked into tailored jackets, adding ease to structure. Evening looks in sheer volumes, built for warm summer nights that stay with you. Peplum waists meet crochet bras, like a knitted bikini clinging to sun-warmed skin beneath a light cotton shawl, layered, but barely there. Fabrics: cotton, linen, silk, and sheer, chosen to breathe and move with the body. Colours: butter yellow, cotton candy, trench, espresso, danish strawberries, white like cotton sheets, black, and beige like ancient stone walls.
This collection is about how we dress when the air is heavy and the days stretch long. Clothes that feel like fresh laundry. Not a statement, more a feeling of comfort, of quiet freedom.
