MOMOTARO JEANS held its First Paris POP-UP

Bringing the True Essence of “Japan Denim” and Its Deepest Indigo to the World. MOMOTARO JEANS, the Kojima-based denim brand rom Okayama, is accelerating its international expansion to strengthen its presence beyond the 28 countries and regions where it is already distributed. As a major milestone in this global strategy, the brand presented its first POP-UP store opening in Paris on June 23rd.

Having earned worldwide recognition, MOMOTARO JEANS is entering a new phase of global expansion, with Paris as the starting point of this chapter. Beyond showcasing its collections, the pop-up invites visitors to discover the craftsmanship and enduring values at the heart of MOMOTARO JEANS.

From Paris, MOMOTARO JEANS aims to express the depth of Japanese monozukuri: a culture of precision, authenticity, and artisanal excellence going beyond the simple label of “Made in Japan,” while building new connections on the international stage.

The Paris venue translates MOMOTARO JEANS’s identity and craftsmanship into a fully immersive, material-driven environment. Wooden elements crafted by MATSUI KENSETSU in Shiga, middle part of Japan, are assembled in Paris by the Association DAIKU, a collective dedicated to traditional Japanese carpentry (L’Art de la charpenterie Japonaise), using authentic shiguchi joinery without nails or screws, alongside denim and indigo fabric fitting rooms. Rather than relying on surface-level decorations such as tatami or shoji screens, the space is defined by structure, technique, and material integrity. A vintage Union Special sewing machine will also provide on-site hemming, extending Japanese-level craftsmanship and hospitality to Paris and redefining the global experience of “Japan Denim.”

To bring the spirit of Kojima to Paris, the reception will feature local sake from Sankansyuzo, served in traditional sake barrels and specially crafted masu cups, alongside exclusive folding fans created for the occasion. These elements offer visitors a glimpse into the culture and craftsmanship that have shaped MOMOTARO JEANS since its founding.
